The Day of Judgment, also known as Yawm-al-Qiyammah or the day of resurrection, is when everything in the world will be finished and every person alive or dead will be standing in front of ALLAH (SWT) and will be accountable for their deeds. Every dead person with the will of ALLAH (SWT) will be given life again and brought before ALLAH (SWT) where ALLAH will ask him about his deeds and what he has done in the world how much he acted according to the teachings of Islam.

Every Person on that day will be judged based on their actions and deeds of their lifetime. Those who spent life according to the principles of Islam will be sent to Heaven while those who were involved in sinful activities and did not act upon the teachings of Islam will be thrown to hell fire (Jahannum).

The Holy Quran says about heaven and hell fire

“Allah has promised those who believe and do righteous deeds [that] for them there is forgiveness and great reward. But those who disbelieve and deny our signs – those are the companions of Hellfire.” [Quran, 5: 10]

HOW THE DAY OF JUDGMENT WILL TAKE PLACE?

When the Day of Judgment will occur, everything in the world will be destroyed and finished. Angel Israfel (AS) will sound a trumpet and the Day of Judgment will occur. All the dead people will be given life again and they would be standing in front of ALLAH (SWT) and will be answering about their actions. On that Day, a man will run away from his sibling, his parents, his wife, and his kids. Everyone will be terrified of the judgment.

Everyone will be given their book of deeds. Then they will be sent to either Hell or Heaven depending on their book of deeds. Heaven is a beautiful place where people will be given all sorts of enjoyments and will be rewarded with ALLAH’s blessings while Hell (Jahanum) would be the place of fire, where there will be only fire everywhere and people will be thrown into it because of their sins.

1O SIGNS OF THE DAY OF JUDGMENT

No one except ALLAH knows when the Day of Judgment will come. There is no specific Date mentioned in the Holy Quran and Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) which can tell the exact day of the Judgment. But ALLAH (SWT) and the Holy Prophet (PBUH) mentioned some of the major signs which will be disclosed before the Day of Judgment.

The 10 signs of Judgment are

1. APPEARING OF DAJJAL

The biggest sign of the day of Judgment is that Dajjal will appear to the people and will claim himself as the god but in reality he would be a liar and a deceiver.

2. THE EMERGENCE OF MEHDI

Imam MEHDI would be the person who will emerge before the Day of Judgment to bring peace to the World.

3. RETURN OF HAZRAT ISA (AS)

Hazrat Isa (AS) will return to the world before the Day of Judgment. After returning to the world he will kill the pigs, break the cross, and put an end to Jizya (tax on Non- Muslims).

4. RISE OF THE SUN FROM THE WEST

It is known by every person that Sun raises from the East but in the end times the Sun will rise from the west.

5. SMOKE COVERING THE EARTH

A Smoke will appear that will cover the earth before the day of resurrection.

6. THE APPEARANCE OF GOG AND MAGOG

The two tribes named GOG and MAGOG will appear in the end times and cause destruction.

7. BREAKING OF EARTH

The earth will be split into two pieces

8. BLOWING OF TRUMPET

A trumpet will be blown by Israfil which will be a sign of the Day of Judgment

9. APPEARANCE OF A BEAST

A beast will come to the world who will tell the people about the Day of Judgment

10. REBIRTH OF DEAD

All dead people will be given life again and will be accountable for their deeds and actions to ALLAH (SWT).

DAY OF JUDGMENT IN THE HOLY QURAN

ALLAH (SWT) has informed the human beings many times about the day of Judgment that a day will come when everyone will be answering ALLAH (SWT) about their actions and will be judged by him.

The Holy Quran says

• Allah, there is no god but He – He will most certainly gather you together on the resurrection day, there is no doubt in it; and who is more true in word than Allah? (4:87)”But when there comes the Deafening Blast – that Day a man will flee from his brother, and his mother and his father, and his wife and his children. For each one of them, that Day will have enough preoccupations of his own. Some faces, that Day, will be bright – laughing, rejoicing at the good news. And other faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. Blackness will cover them. Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones.” (Quran 80: 33-42)

There are many other verses in the Holy Quran where we have been informed by the day of Judgment, how it will happen and what will it be like. If we see today many of the signs of the day of Judgment have happened and it is very clear that the end time is very near.

Those who believe in ALLAH and have faith on the day of Judgment must prepare themselves for the day when they will be answering to the creator of the Universe.
