بے مثل و بے مثال بشرﷺ الحمداللّٰہ رب...
Laylatul Qadr, also known as the night of the power. The reason why this night is called the night of power is that this night can help us remove our sins and get unlimited rewards and blessings from ALLAH (SWT).Laylat-ul-Qadr is the one night when we can get repentance from Allah (SWT), we can get our prayers accepted, and secure our place in Jannah.
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) has explained to us that the exact date of this night is not known to anyone however, this night falls on the odd nights of the last ten nights of Ramadan. Muslims have to find this night and pray all these five nights to seek Divine pleasure.
Narrated by Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
“Search for the Night of Qdr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan.” (Sahih Bukhari)
As we all are aware of the fact that no one knows the exact date of Laylat-ul-Qadr, there are certain signs of Laylat-ul-Qadr which are mentioned in various hadiths of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). They include:
Surah Al Qadr which is the 97th chapter (Surah) of the Holy Quran describes the significance of this miraculous night. The verses are as follows:
“Verily! We have sent it (this Quran) down in the Night of Power. And what will make you know what the Night of Power is? The Night of Power is better than a thousand months. Therein descend the angels and the Spirit (Gabriel) by Allah’s permission with all decrees. Peace! Until the appearance of dawn.” (Quran 97:1-5)
These verses of the Holy Quran explain the importance of this night, ALLAH (SWT) has mentioned that the Holy Quran was sent in Laylat-ul-Qadr and this night is better than a thousand months , the good deeds and worship have done on this night are better than the worships done in a thousand months. Also, ALLAH (SWT) sends the angels to the earth on this night who bring with them ALLAH‘s blessings and decrees.
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) also emphasized the importance of this night several times. Some of the Hadiths are:
The above-mentioned Hadiths are enough to explain the worth of these precious nights. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) has given the good news to his Ummah that whoever will get this night and spends it in prayers he will be forgiven and all his sins will be vanished.
Muslims are encouraged to spend these nights praying and in various acts of worship. Other than obligatory prayers, we can perform many voluntary prayers like reciting the Holy Quran, making dua (supplications), and asking forgiveness from ALLAH (SWT).
“ALLAHUMMA INNAKA ‘AFUWWUN TUHIBBUL ‘AFWA FA’FU ‘ANNEE” Tirmidhi: 3513
O Allah, indeed You are Pardoning, [Generous,] You love to pardon, so pardon me
Additionally, the recitation of Surah Qadr is also recommended on this holy night as it describes the significance and blessings of this night. Engaging in voluntary prayers such as Taraweeh, tahajjud, and Salat ut Tasbeeh is also highly rewarding on this night.
